Members of MacLevelTen spent the weekend reviewing and contemplating the highs and the lows of the iPhone 3G launch, and provide an in-depth examination of what went wrong, what didn’t, and who should be held responsible. Buying experiences and frustrations are shared, performance results compared and some favorite applications are picked. From iPhone supply shortages to stupid wait list policies to amazing new software, the MacJurors call ‘em as they see ‘em.

The anticipation for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2008 is so intense that we had to convene a second panel to discuss it. A wish-list kicks off the session, with the jury agreeing on one product they would like to see while disagreeing on others. (Would *you* want a pink MacBook Pro?) The analysis then slides to what we can realistically expect and why, including thoughts on the iPhone and Mac OS. Chuck reveals why rumors are banned from MacJury deliberations, and the group wraps up thoughts on WWDC and Star Trek, The Google Factor, an enhanced .Mac and, of all things, styli.

The case is Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2008, and the MacJury reviews evidence of what to expect when Steve Jobs takes the stage next week. The panel discusses what’s in store for both the hardware and software of the iPhone, the possibilities surrounding the Apple TV, and the future of the Mac OS. The panel abandons their objectivity to discuss what they would like to see, and conclude with deliberations on the future of OS development in general and the Mac OS in particular.

The MacJury hears more evidence on the on-again, off-again Microsoft/Yahoo merger…or buyout…or whatever it is as you read this. The panel discusses the latest information, Yahoo’s motivations, Google’s involvement in the developments, and why you should feel sorry for Microsoft. Also on the docket is the question of whether current software such as iWork ‘08, open source alternatives and cloud computing make it possible to abandon the Microsoft Office suite.
