Filed under: Audio/Music, Events, Hardware, Productivity, Software, Video, Web, iPad, iPhone
The wait is over. Apple’s new iPad is finally here, putting an end to months of speculation, predictions and wishful thinking. How close does it come to being the ultimate portable device? How does it measure up to the astronomical hype? Will it save the newspaper and magazine industry, dominate the ebook market and upend hand-held gaming? What about the price points, options for connectivity and the selection of AT&T as the provider of internet access? Deliberations on all these issues and more are conducted by the panel of:

MacJury #915: New iPods, iTunes and More: Was It Really Only Rock & Roll? (Part 2)
Filed under: Audio/Music, Events, Hardware, Software, Video, iPhone, iPod
The MacJury continue their deliberations of Apple’s “It’s Only Rock & Roll” event by reviewing the new Home Sharing feature, discussing whether the iTunes Store redesign is a step forward, backward or sideways, and what the return of Steve Jobs means for future announcements. With the new version of iTunes, arranging your iPhone apps is no longer a frustrating game, apps can be shared between Macs, and the new album format premiers. All this and more are examined by the panel of:

MacJury #914: New iPods, iTunes and More: Was It Really Only Rock & Roll? (Part 1)
Filed under: Audio/Music, Hardware, Software, Video, Web, iPhone, iPod
Apple’s September music event was entitled, “It’s Only Rock & Roll, But We Like It.” But was it really? The MacJury consider the facts in the first of a two-part discussion. Do the iPod nano’s new features reflect Steve Jobs’ absence or do they address some specific aspects of iPod use? And why an FM radio? Is the decision not to put a camera in the iPod touch an oversight or a differentiator? Should you upgrade to iPhone 3.1 right away? And perhaps the biggest question of all…Norah Jones??? The MacJury take the case with a panel of:

MacJury #913: Passing Judgement on Snow Leopard (Part 2)
More MacJurors weigh in on the newest version of Mac OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard. This panel discusses why Snow Leopard looks better and what that means for graphics professionals as well as the casual user, why the transition to Snow Leopard is “important but not urgent,” and the issues surrounding QuickTime 10. The panel also discusses why the newest version of the Mac OS will force developers to stay focused, and share some of the best new changes to existing features. Joining the deliberations for this session are:

MacJury #912: Passing Judgement on Snow Leopard (Part 1)
Mac OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard might be the biggest thing since the Mac transition to the Intel chip. Members of The MacJury spent the weekend (or longer) working with the new OS, and deliver their verdicts on such aspects of the Snow Leopard experience as the methods of installation, possible confusion over GUID drive formatting, and what hardware they are running the big cat on. Along the way the group debunk some Snow Leopard myths, such as 32-bit vs. 64-bit software, examine both sides of the burden developers face in updating old software to Snow Leopard and much more. The panel for our first post-Snow Leopard release deliberations include:
